This quiz over general Parking Rules & Regulations is designed for students to educate themselves about commonly misunderstood parking policies. Students who receive their first ever KU parking ticket may be able to have the ticket canceled in exchange for successfully completing the quiz, if they do so within 10 business/14 calendar days of the ticket’s issuance and if the ticket is for a minor group 1 violation such as No Valid Permit, Restricted Area, or Wrong Zone.

The quiz is part of our existing appeals process, however please do not pay the ticket before taking the quiz. Students who have tickets that are deemed ineligible for cancelation via successful quiz completion will still have the opportunity to appeal any ticket, as has always been the case.

The information that students who take the quiz will need to know is available on our website, primarily in the Rules & Regulations section.

If you are a current student, faculty, or staff member at KU, and if this is the first time you've ever gotten a parking ticket, and it is a Group 1 violation (see Section 12 of the Parking Regulations), you might be able to have your first ever ticket canceled. Only one ticket will be canceled per account and/or license plate. If you are a visitor or prospective/future student, please email in regards to your ticket.

If you think you are eligible, take this 24-question parking quiz (within the same 10 business/14 calendar day deadline as an appeal), then we'll verify your eligibility and notify you if we were able to cancel the ticket. You will need to log in with your KU Online ID in order to start the quiz.

Please Note: The Parking Quiz does not apply to citations written for Unpaid Garage Toll, Parking Meters, ADA Stalls, Non-designated Parking, Reserved Stall violations, and Fire Lanes!

If you received one of these types of tickets, you can fill out an appeal form online in the Parking eBusiness Portal.
